This is one of my favorite Fred Astaire and Ginger Roberts movies. In a case of mistaken identity Roberts mistakes Astaire for his married friend and believes that he is trying to take her as his mistress while being married to one of her best friends. There is lots of hilarious twists and turns for all involved and most importantly, the dancing is just amazing.

Pretty thin premise. But Astaire is a natural entertainer. Chuckled a time or two. For the pace, it should’ve been able to play out quicker.

Fun movie, if a little classically simple with the mistaken identities and what not. "Cheek to Cheek" is a fantastic number, and the others are all pretty good as well. I watched a degraded version of this which affected my enjoyment a bit, so it's definitely worth a rewatch when I can find a better version.

Did people just suspend belief, or did cinemagoers genuinely believe that vast, white, pristine set was what Venice actually looked like??
