Based on a true story, as told at the end. It has great potential, but it fails to follow up with the numerous sub-plots it just throws in to make up the two hours, and the main plot lacks real emotion. Sunday-night movie only.

The movie's pacing could have been better, and the ending is, in my opinion, anti-climatic. Decent performance by Johnny Depp. Cumberbatch's American accent is the real highlight of the movie.

While I can appreciate the strength of Depp's performance relative to the typical roles he plays, one above-average performance does not a movie make. If you liked The Town you'll probably love this movie, but I found myself thinking more about Depp's make-up than the rest of the movie after leaving the theater.

Strong performances but begins to run out of steam 3/4 of the way through
