I love plots that share life lessons, and Rockin' on Heaven's Door definitely makes the list. The setting isn't exactly a hospital, but rather a hospice care home for terminal patients. While this isn't very common in Brazil, it is quite standard abroad; there are patients who choose not to undergo or decide to stop conventional treatments, which in turn are invasive and distressing. Since human rights laws prohibit euthanasia, these "hospitals" are created with the sole purpose of providing symptomatic treatment and comfort to patients and their families until their final moments. The patient and their family members sign a detailed agreement and are "admitted," but they can leave or engage in any activity just as if they were at home, though they must return at night and follow medical guidelines. Although it might sound negative to some, I think it's a great idea, since this method allows life to take its natural course without intervention. Just like in nature, nothing lasts forever, and I don't see the point in trying to delay the inevitable. After all, sooner or later, that day will come for all of us. Instead of trying to achieve the impossible, it's better to accept death as a natural process of things. Rockin' on Heaven's Door was cool and is really nice, emotional, and at times funny. It's well worth watching. I'd give it a ten for its overall context.
