Probably not as funny as other screwball comedies featuring Grant. But still entertaining. As a German, I'm also quite interested in the depiction of post-war Germany. Not sure whether that's an authentic depiction but it's a glimpse into a version of Germany that is totally different from the Germany I was born and raised in. The female lead is good. Carry is crazy handsome. Gosh, he is handsome.... Given his perfect accent, I can't get my head around the fact that he's a French officer in this picture though. (His German is also quite funny tbh).
really funny and enjoyable film just not as good as other Cary Grant movies
I love the Grant screwball comedies but this is a lesser effort. The main concept is good, but in practice, it is not as funny as it seems like it should be. Grant does the best he can with the material and Sheridan is certainly game. Just not in Grant's top films.
