loved the behind the scenes and Disney history aspect
Not really a movie, more of a documentary. A really playful way of showing what happens in creating an animated movie at that time.
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘The Reluctant Dragon’: 1. I was not expecting a live action movie. 2. The animated stories were cute, but not the highlight. The soul of this film lies in all the magic making. It was a treat to see all that went into creating Disney animated pictures way back when. The behind-the-scenes tour gave the studios a magical theme park feel and you can see how Walt really set the bar for _everything_. 3. Appearances by Walt himself and the legendary voice of Donald Duck were also fun highlights. Benchley, on the other hand, was largely unlikable.
This is more of a little behind the scene of making of Disney animated film where actual cartoon shows up in last few minutes of it. Still one of the more forgotten Disney film but behind the scene process is pretty interesting.
Honestly a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Had never heard of this before watching it but loved seeing the behind the scenes of animation in the 1940s. The animations themselves were pretty weak tbh, I enjoyed the live action portions more
