I've enjoyed the "King of the Ring" cards so far although some of the matches have been pretty underwhelming. This one was no different, and the "Kiss My Foot" match between Jerry Lawler vs Bret Hart was - in all honesty - pretty disgusting. I guess some of these guys are willing to do anything to make a dollar. On that note, however, I _will_ (1) give kudos to Jerry Lawler for doing what he did, and (2) give an LOL to Vince McMahon (whom I usually hate to hear calling commentary on these cards) for his little comment about "ptomain (toe main) poisoning". That actually made me LOL...along with the comment about _"I wonder if it tastes like chicken...who knows? Well, Jerry Lawler..."_ Two great lines from a guy who usually struggles to put two coherent sentences together. Apart from those few moments, however, this - like the other KoTR cards - wasn't all that earth-shattering, but it _did_ have some decent story buildups in it. I still - for the life of me - do not see why WWF put so much time and effort into the "Tatanka" character when it was dull as dirt. And here you have a supposed "Native American", who usually excites the fans with his silly little Indian war dance around the ring, trying to talk white slang in the locker room before the match. How utterly ridiculous. It just never worked. On the scales, however, this one still tilts slightly in favor of giving it a watch simply for the sake of nostalgia...or, if you're like me and just HAVE to watch all those old WWF cards that you missed back in the day. Either way, it was worth sitting through at least once.
