Everything the first film did right, this one undoes. Replacing Devgn with Akshay Kumar in a role demanding brooding restraint was the first mistake. The love triangle at the center is lazily written and the gangster world that felt so alive in the original becomes just a backdrop for a romance nobody asked for. The first film had dialogues that landed because characters earned them. Here the same style feels like performance without weight. A sequel that genuinely makes you value the original more.
