Certainly not to the standard of the first--Stephen Geoffreys and Chris Sarandon's absences are felt strongly. But solid performances from Brian Thompson and Jon Gries help. The problem is really Julie Carmen's villainess who just isn't as scary as you would hope for the big bag. I do think they do a nice job using Roddy McDowell this round and it still has a fairly decent fun factor!
Roddy McDowel is the best thing about this unnecessary sequel.
Honestly, I went in expecting it to be terrible, but Fright Night Part 2 turned out to be a surprisingly fun and enjoyable watch. The story kept me entertained, the tone hit the right mix of camp and charm, and Julie Carmen absolutely stole the show—not only with her performance, but with her stunning presence on screen.
Still good, but does not reach the standard of the fist movie.
Found it quite boring, some nice effects and I liked the characters but other than that I can't think of much positive to say.
