UFC 30 was the first event after the purchase by Zuffa. Interesting (and a bit funny) to see the introduction of the new UFC President, a very young Dana White…who still had hair. (I think it's the first time I've ever seen him with hair!) From a video/airtime standard, it was almost a whole new ballgame: the audio was far, FAR better, the camerawork - although still iffy in some spots (but that's the nature of filming live sporting events) was better, even the lighting seemed to be better. You could actually hear the commentary during the fights, as opposed to it either being drowned out by crowd noise or completely distracting from what was going on in the ring. The fights, overall, were superb although the 5-round match between Jens Pulver and Caol Uno - for the new Bantamweight Championship - was a bit of a drag. The fight between Josh Barnett and Pedro Rizzo was the kind of fight that UFC fans absolutely love: very little hesitation; both fighters swinging for the fences, and a great finish. One of the best UFC fights I've seen in these early cards. Looking forward to the growth and advancement of the UFC under the "new" ownership of Zuffa; it should be interesting to see how things (hopefully) begin to progress.
