Handlung
Max ist ein Kind voller Wut und unkontrollierter Impulse, und doch eine sensitive Seele, die sich allein gelassen fühlt. Nach einem Streit mit seiner gutmütigen, aber überforderten Mutter flüchtet er in eine Traumwelt - auf eine Insel mit monströs wirkenden, im Grunde aber kindlichen Kreaturen, die den wilden Jungen als König akzeptieren. Einige Tage lebt und tollt Max mit den neuen Freunden, bis es auch hier zu Enttäuschungen und Streit kommt. Doch Max weiß, dass jemand auf ihn wartet, der ihn immer lieben wird. Bedingungslos.

I could not finish this. I found it a bore. The characters were boring and uninteresting. Visually great however.

I think many people will identify with this kid, who seems to be quite a loner and experiences the many emotions we all feel. His imagination is not all too different from reality. It's a very enjoyable film throughout.

This movie is one of the few movies that I think is an excellent adaptation of a book, even if it's based on a children's book. I find the message behind this movie very nice for kids and adults, and this movie can be watched and enjoyed by any age.

This is a good movie but I'm not sure if it's a good kids movie. I don't know if kids are going to get all the themes this movie is going for. They might just like seeing the beasts. The effects on all the beasts are really well done.
