Just saw a sneak peak of the last Jackass movie, and I thought it was good, but definitely the weakest out of all the Jackass movies, mainly cuz like 80% of the content was stunts from previous movies. That and cuz it felt more like a Jackass 5.5 movie, as opposed to a mainline movie. I still loved it, but it was disappointing, especially since it's likely the final movie
I felt a sense of relief as the credits rolled. Not so much for myself, but for the entire Jackass cast, especially the older members, knowing they’ll finally be able to spare their bodies from even more punishment after decades of performing reckless, painful stunts. It also feels like the right time, as they’re all getting older. Since they probably couldn’t pull together enough new material to fill an entire feature, the film dips into the archives and revisits some of the series’ greatest hits. As someone who didn’t really watch the show growing up, I didn’t mind this approach since many of the clips were new to me. I can understand why longtime fans might be disappointed by the recycled footage, though. The retrospective angle works because it highlights the contrast between their younger selves and who they’ve become over the past few decades. There are a handful of new stunts with a more modern feel, but this film is less about topping what came before and more about enjoying one final ride with the cast and giving them a proper send off.
These guys have shoved more stuff up their butts than most pornstars.
Goodbye, you jackasses. It's been a funny, gross, and cringe-worthy ride, but we can't be young forever.
I’ve always been a big fan of this franchise. I remember vividly when the original came out about 25+ years ago. This franchise will always be super nostalgic for me. It’s a lot of fun and the cast is so great together. You can definitely see as they get older they can’t do as many of the same stunts. It’s crazy how long they did all these crazy and insanely dangerous stunts. They’ve given us plenty of laughs along the way. This one in particular had a few really hilarious segments. You know what you’re getting going into these movies. You’re going to get a lot of nude and poop jokes for one. They definitely brought back some of the older stunts from previous films. It was still fun to see those again. The funny thing is some of the stunts they do actually look fun. Thanks to these guys for getting hurt at the benefit of our entertainment. These stunts, pranks and tricks will live on forever. * Double Feature at AMC Crestwood 18
