Watching this documentary honestly made my blood boil. It really shows how broken and cruel the system can be. Aileen Wuornos was clearly mentally unstable — anyone could see that — yet no one cared enough to help her or even notice. During her first murder trial, she was trembling so badly while trying to tell her story, and it was painful to watch. What made it worse was John Tanner’s disgusting attitude — the way he talked as if it was okay for a prostitute to be raped because “that’s their job.” He didn’t even listen to her, not for a second. It was sickening. And the part where they suddenly changed the chief judge halfway through the case? That was beyond suspicious. It honestly felt like they were determined to make sure Aileen ended up dead, no matter what. The most heartbreaking thing is that later, they actually confirmed Richard Mallory — the man from her first murder — was a violent rapist. That alone proves her first charge, the one that got her sentenced to death, was never justified. It’s just tragic how the system failed her so completely.
