I feel like most Pokémon movies up to this point have been: the world has faced some existential threat, and Satoshi plays a part in saving the world. This time, it's just about some mythical Pokémon facing mortal danger, and Satoshi wants to risk his life and help out. I think I welcome the change. But... the core of the story was just about
Keldeo growing as fighter
, which I don't find that interesting. It's not movie-worthy, I guess. There's already hundreds of Pokémon TV episodes about becoming stronger. And although I say that that was the core of the story, most of the screen time, they were just
fleeing from Kyurem
. Sure, I guess that ties in to the core a little bit. Keldeo has to face Kyurem instead of being a scaredy-cat and running away. But running away was the sane thing to do, because he was, like, dying. And it's okay to be scared, in my opinion. Even if you want to be a Sword of Justice, you don't need to be strong all the time. Or, well, that's my vision at least. I want better Pokémon movies. It's short by the way. 71 minutes.
Team Rocket wasn't in the movie!! (Basically!)
