A vicar in Bangkok and his wife reel after an animal cruelty video rattles their daughter; when she vanishes, grief mutates into obsession. The search drags them through sex tourism, graft and moral rot while his belief buckles under Old Testament fury. Rumley threads theological anguish through exploitation textures, pushing questions of forgiveness versus vengeance until they cut. Performances feel lived in, the city sweats, and the film refuses easy catharsis. Miserable by design but piercing. If you liked... First Reformed, Red White & Blue, Hardcore (1979).
A clever film that terrifies it's audience with the threat of seeing images they wouldn't want to see. This film deals with real-life horrors that make your blood curdle but also various more personal dilemmas. The performances are great, especially Steve Oram who manages to inject humour into a very dark tale, as he is so good at doing. Really well made original film.
