Love how this uses the vibes and aesthetics of FMV and PSOne horror to express the unique horror of modern technology. Only part of the horror here is that the horror of modern internet is not wholly unique. There was a sort of fun and larger than life weirdness to the early Internet that made even its dark side feel special. This uses surreality to expose reality- the brazen and wasteful laziness of AI, the entitlement to your success and to other people, the non blasé disregard for others as you drive and mess with your phone, the world exposed before your eyes as a series of scams and lies and nobody actually believing anything and websites barely hiding anything anymore because what are you going to do, say no? Use a different website? You don’t. It’s apocalyptic, and you’re resigned to it. The hole’s all around you. Why not get in?
