[VdR '25] Through the virtuality of this imaginary world, the director reflects the narratives of domination that are reproduced under anonymity, recovering the fantasies of the collective imagination and reflecting the unfiltered reality of true attitudes of racism and objectification. Almost no one asks his name; everyone refers to him as "the Arab," a general categorization that represents an identity that is reproduced from two equally racist perspectives: that of white gay men who see him solely as a sexual object, and that of a group of French police officers who exercise violence.
