Single is exactly what it promises to be: a fun, goofy rom-com that doesn’t take itself seriously and honestly doesn’t want you to either. The story isn’t groundbreaking - it’s the same formula you’ve seen a hundred times but it works because it feels relatable. The comedy lands more often than not, the situations are silly in the best way, and the film is self-aware enough to joke about itself. What I loved most is how the movie keeps breaking the bubble, it drops meme jokes, meta references, and little nods that connect straight to the audience. It’s not pretending to be some deep emotional journey. It’s just here to make you laugh and remind you of those chaotic, exaggerated moments we all see around us. Performances are the highlight. Sree Vishnu is effortless and super watchable, carrying the film with his timing. Vennela Kishore is gold, every reaction of his adds another layer of humor. Ketika Sharma and Ivana both do exactly what’s needed, bringing charm and energy even if their characters don’t get much depth. Together, they make sure you’re entertained even when the story feels too familiar. Technically, it’s colorful, snappy, and designed for light entertainment. The songs? Forgettable. The background score? Fits the mood. Editing is tight in the first half and shaky later, but it never derails the fun. At the end of the day, Single isn’t trying to be a classic. It’s just a breezy, meta-heavy comedy that knows its limits and plays within them. I never felt bored, I laughed more than I expected, and that’s exactly what this kind of film should deliver. Perfect weekend chill watch when you just want to relax and laugh without thinking too hard.
Ends rather abruptly, but the journey there is a decently fun time. Vishnu and Kishore seem to naturally bounce off of each other very well, which leads to some really funny moments, plus the second half of #Single manages to be a pretty fun time. It’s just that the protagonist, Vijay, can sometimes seem pretty unlikable and he’s just stalking Poorva for a good chunk of the movie. He’s pretty crazy for passing up on Harini, though….
