[Sheffield '25] From the lack of sleep caused by the lasting effects of the coronavirus, director Marcelo Gomes proposes a fascinating journey through the most remote corners of our drowsy brains. In this dream world, the presence of shamanism and indigenous knowledge takes center stage. The film poses questions that it doesn't always answer, questions that Marcelo Gomes himself expresses in the first person, trying to achieve his goal of recovering the world of dreams. The director proposes, more than an assertion about the effects of sleep, an invitation to look at our brain in a broader way, sizing up our perception to allow ourselves to be carried away by those creatures mentioned in the title.
