The docu discusses the toxic atmosphere that existed in the team before they entered the World Cup. Coach Jorge Vilda had the biggest part in this with his "the bed room door can't be locked and I can come in whenever I want" policy. 15 women refused to participate because they no longer wanted to play football under Vilda. After great pressure, 8 of the 15 still decided to join. After winning the title, the president of the Spanish Football Federation Luis Rubiales assaulted Jennifer Hermoso by kissing her full on the mouth. A good complete docu about the events and clearly visible what this did to this group of courageous women. Small critics I have is that the film started with the celebration of victory and then showed fragments of the World Cup match by match, with a tension building that was obviously not exciting since we already know they won the title. A little more wry is that you can still see their current coach, Montserrat Tomé applauding that jerk, and she did not support the players in any way in their struggle. The Spanish team deserves better, they have one of the best teams (maybe the best) in the world.
