David Jonnson continues to impress, every time he pops up he's doing another varied role from the one before, he's got a bright future ahead. The movie is tightly paced, believable in its moments of explosive violence, calm when it needs but the underlying tension never lets up, even after the credits rolled I felt coiled like a spring.

Really enjoyed this. Gritty. Great acting. Well worth a watch.

It's a simple plot but the runtime is tight. Superb cinematography and presentation as well as the casting, the sound design, the direction, and so on. It's an unpleasant and frankly harrowing experience that gets the heart racing, but I mean that as a compliment; Wasteman is a very effectively executed film and a fantastic directorial debut for Cal McMau.
