Such a charming movie. Definitely going into my “Will watch again” collection. Hence my rating of 8/10. Bonus: While taking us through the Italian scenery, the movie also takes its soundtrack to the next level by featuring Andrea Bocelli himself.
This is definitely the type of movie that I would always enjoy and surely enough I absolutely did with this. I really enjoyed the romantic build up. I absolutely loved Kevin James here. The supporting characters were really likable and enjoyable as well. I honestly laughed a decent amount. I also had a smile on my face for the entirety of the movie. I liked the story and the pacing. The setting was really nice too. This was a really heartwarming and wholesome movie. There’s some fun to be had, a few laughs and a nice romantic story. I would definitely recommend giving this one a shot. * AMC Crestwood 18
العمل ملئ بالدفئ الايطالي ، واجواء روما ، انه عمل جيد الى حد ما ، وبسيط بالاحداث ، وهو عائلي ورومنسي كلاسيكي
Review: Solo Mio (2025) Solo Mio is unapologetic feel-good comfort food. It lays out its entire blueprint in the first 15 minutes: an American art teacher is left at the altar in Rome, gets adopted by aggressive fellow travelers, and finds a new flame. It is formulaic and predictable, but it delivers exactly what it promises—a genuine smile. The real draw here is Kevin James. Shedding his loud, slapstick sitcom persona from The King of Queens, James turns in a surprising performance. He uses his entire face to convey a quiet, grounded mix of joy and sorrow, making his character's vulnerability feel raw and completely relatable. He is backed by an excellent cast. Nicole Grimaudo brings effortless, compassionate warmth as Gia. Because of a natural language barrier, she and James rely on sweet, organic eye contact rather than heavy dialogue. Meanwhile, Kim Coates (Goon) and Alyson Hannigan (American Pie) inject a necessary burst of chaotic, goofy energy as a wildly dysfunctional married couple pushing James out of his comfort zone. Much like a perfect homemade pizza, Solo Mio doesn’t need complicated gimmicks. It takes simple, traditional ingredients—lovable sincerity, gorgeous Italian backdrops, and great comedic timing—and executes them with heart. It is a zero-stress, artisan romantic comedy that leaves you feeling incredibly good. Rating: 4/5 Slices of Perfect Comfort Food 🍕
This movie is better than it had any right to be. James has never really been able to make the leap into legitimate roles, but he is really good in this movie. While the movie is beautiful to look at, it is the chemistry between the two leads that makes the movie. In particular, if you can watch this movie and not fall in love with Nicole Grimaudo, you're a stronger human than I am. The secondary characters didn't work, and the movie often struggled with flow, but the core of the film is too good to ignore. follow https://IHATEBadMovies.com or facebook IHATEBadMovies
