The title is a bit misleading as it points only to one aspect of the movie and that is not the most important one to my mind. This is a very intelligent, sensitive and thoughtful comedy. It manages to keep the charm of Bridget that made her so likeable in the previous movies, but it also tackles how different people, young and older, deal with the often brutal realities of life. This is done in a very sensitive but not melodramatic way, and that is what makes the movie great in my eyes. I also applaud that they did not insert unnecessarily gay and ethnic people, just to have them there as so many movies do nowadays. They have all kinds of people in the movie but all for a good reason. It feels natural that they are there, just as in real life. Congratulations. An excellent movie that in worthy of the previous movies about Mrs Jones.
Love this one. Perfect ending for the series. It's quite fun and sad.
So lovely. I did not know what to expect but it did make me smile and even cry......Life must continue but that does not mean you forget the person you loved.....or your friends.....a very nice finish to the Bridget Jones saga...don't miss the end credits....lovely.
A fifty something that supposedly got married 20 years ago with elementary age children is complete bullshit. Can't even fathom who thought this script would work. It just goes to prove how disconnected wealthy people are from reality. Fifty five year old women don't have elementary age children unless they are JLo and can afford nannies 24/7. Normal women are advised to give up and adopt by the time they are in their late 30s. So just so far fetched. The could've written a great script and title with teenage kids which would've been way, way more believable. The only realistic scene is the kid asking why is your grandma in her pajamas. Zellweger is overdue growing up. That naive act was still cute in 2005 when she was 35. It's ridiculous now she's 55. Only reason I didn't score it a1 is because they managed to pull Colin Firth for a couple scenes and the casting was good. But nothing can make up for a script that doesn't fit any semblance of reality. 2.8/10
There were a few funny moments, a few touching ones, a typical ending for the series after all these years.
