A story within a story within a story

Not at all what I expected, but an enjoyable experiment in visual storytelling that fits right in with Wes Anderson's catalogue. More akin to an audio book combined with a theatrical performance, the success of the experiment is largely thanks to Roald Dahl's writing being incredibly engaging. Even the stories that I enjoyed less were still compelling. It doesn't hurt that the performances are not only excellent, but also lean into the format, with quirky nods to the audience as they tell their own story while performing it. The set and prop (or lack of prop) design also add a layer of interest, with Wes Anderson's flair for quirky visual storytelling on full display.
