Overwrote and melodramatic, Just Breathe reads like a teenager's first draft; a film rife with unearned emotion and overly dramatic clashes that play more comedic and cartoonish than the heavy and edgy I feel was intended. Kyle brings his usual, dependable performance but everyone else acts like an SNL skit parodying a serious thriller with shades of The Room's schizophrenic dialogue and unintentionally funny delivery. One of the worst movies I've seen for a while. I know we all have bills to pay but Gallner and Ashmore, you're above projects like this.

Really enjoyed the first half or so, something was working because I was feeling the anger Kyle Gallner was generating... wouldn't want to be around him even on set because he's pretty scary. We get some good character depth with him, I knew and understood where he was coming from. Alright drama at times but at other times it was so cringe and forced, especially the stuff with the dad. Shawn Ashmore makes a convincing villain, I really wanted to hit him like Kyle Gallner assaulted that poor innocent metal garbage bin. Really exaggerated and baffling storyline in the second half but it was entertaining at least. Didn't know you could do that with a vacuum...
