This exists . . . for some reason.😕 😖 Child actor playing the role of Kevin doesn't even remotely resemble Macaulay Culkin in the role. French Stewart playing Daniel Stern's character, Marv, has a completely different vibe. At least in the 3rd movie and the one made after this (again, why does that one exist?) they had the sense to make the characters different.
This is supposed to be the same Kevin and Marv as the first movies and they seem to have a history (which I assume is the first two movies) but how? Kevin is 9 in this one and 10 in the earlier one… makes no sense. Didn’t help that this movie was just really really bad anyway.
This sorry excuse for a movie is an utterly diabolical, shameless travesty; an unforgivable insult to the franchise, particularly the excellent first Home Alone movie, that it has unsuccessfully tried to recreate. Having already been cloned twice, each time worse than their predecessor, you'd have thought that it was time to stop milking this plot drier than it had already become. But no, they had to flog the dead horse one final time. No child actor could hope to match the pure class and acting talent demonstrated by Macaulay Culkin in HA1, and to a lesser extent HA2. Mike Weinberg isn't even in the same league. This is probably not his fault - he was only a 9-year-old boy that was the victim of terrible film production at every level. Even Culkin (at the same age) couldn't have stopped this from being a steaming pile of plagiarised donkey droppings. Which raises another question - how is Kevin McAllister 9 years old in this movie when he was 10 in HA2? And the actor used to portray Marv isn't the same one from the first two instalments? Do yourselves a favour and avoid this at all costs. Watch HA1 or HA2 if you want a Home Alone fix.
