If the 35% wasn't indication enough: this is a lousy movie. I've seen worse than this however. The main problem with this movie is the sound. Everything sounds hollow and wrong. It's as if they didn't have enough money to get decent or enough microphones. Voices sound like a voice in the room (usually a hollow room) while effects sound like something they scrapped together in Audiogalaxy or something. There's a scene in the chapel where he gives a sermon, it sounds as hollow as a chapel would be. But then he opens the door and all of a suddon there's hollowness AND the sound of birds and a road... inside... Sounds that should be outside are inside due to their lack of sound design. I'm not even going to mention the scenes where they add a layer of music. Besides that the acting and story aren't all that. The characters are obnoxious and rediculous. The plot is losely based on the Book of Job combined with a cliché vampire infestation story. It's boring, derivative, badly made... and it looks like crap. Colors are muted, cinematograpy is amateur level. All in all: a movie you can skip. On top of that: Rutger Hauer is only in it for 8 minutes or something. Yep. One of those films.
