A surprisingly entertaining and twisted, if a bit meandering Spanish giallo. I wasn't expecting such a unique film. It's essentially a melodrama which changes its gears into a slasher/psychological horror about halfway through. It moves rather slow but there's some excellent visual flair and overwhelming tension which mostly comes from the characters and the love triangle. I find myself enamored by the peculiarity and the dysfunctional characters within it. The performances are so great that I don't really mind the heavy drama portion and the almost 2-hour runtime. The violent parts of the film are top tier and worth sitting through. Overall, this could've been much tighter, but I still had a really great time with it.
