O filme começa interessante: tem um tom sombrio de mistério, escuridão, chuva, floresta, uma vibe quase gótica, além da própria casa ter um ar de estranheza. Gosto disso; o filme tem um bom ritmo, prende a atenção, e a trilha sonora ajuda muito nesse clima. Mas, à medida que o filme vai passando, surgem alguns problemas. O ponto fraco principal, para mim, é o roteiro, com muita conveniência para o filme acontecer; os diálogos são sem graça. Conforme o filme avança, acontecem muitas cenas que não levam a nada, e os jumpscares também não são bem feitos. Essa estrutura se repete bastante ao longo do filme (cena de tensão que não leva a nada, logo em seguida jumpscare), depois corta para algo mais tranquilo, depois um mistério, e aí recomeça. É um filme que cria um clima muito bom, mas não recompensa o suficiente: fica só no quase e vai cansando um pouco. Ele é ótimo em construir tensão, mas a execução de fato não é muito boa. No final, o filme parece encontrar o caminho e volta a se tornar interessante, amarrando todos os pontos. Tem “sabor” de filme bom. No geral, fica acima da média, porque entrega um bom resultado. Começa bem, se perde no meio e se reencontra no final; gostei, mas poderia ser melhor executado.

This had potential. The ending was rushed.

Was a fan of Kelly's from FNL and Grace from Lost and FWD. Mulroney has popped up here and there over the years and overall is quite reliable. This movie is some of the most putrid dreck I've ever watched. The actors are trying in parts, but it just feels like the way they've been written and directed leaves a feeling that we're watching a stage play featuring over the top performances. Nothing feels genuine it all feels performative. The plot holes drove me insane. If you're feeling extremely masochistic give this one a whirl. 1.3/10. I'll leave a little room below it in case I find something that steals the crown of lowest rated film I've seen since starting these ratings. Vacation friends 2? Your 1.5 is no longer the top dog.
