So a couple of things this film raises for me........ 1) The mexican wall doesn't seem to be stopping shit from crossing the border illegally into the US. 2) FFS bring the US drinking age down to 18 ( like the rest of the world), so that the kids around that age, can have a beer so they don't get drawn to do harder drugs like H or F in the first place. 3) the only way to stop this vicious cycle is to legalize all recreational drugs. Thereby taking it away from the black market and removing the organised crime element. Which means it can be taxed by the government, it can be tracked and hence made safer, and the tax taken can go to fund the rehab centres.

King Ivory tackles a complex and distressing topic such as drug trafficking and human trafficking, set against the harsh reality of the fentanyl trade in the United States. Although the film does not achieve cinematic excellence, it handles the narrative competently within a plot filled with tension and visceral violence. Director John Swab bases the film on thorough research that brings authenticity to the portrayal of the social and human consequences of this crisis, especially in prison and community contexts. However, the movie falls short in character depth and emotional development, which limits the empathetic impact on the audience. Nevertheless, King Ivory stands as an intense dramatic effort that, despite its shortcomings, manages to convey the harshness of a difficult issue to address honestly in commercial cinema.

Overdose scenes are always rough, but the one in this film really is a gut punch. Great movie and great performance from JBD

all the main chars are gutter thuggy heavy-swearing unlikable not like real people/cops. this is no Sicario or Traffic. Rented on Amazon and made it 40 mins before stopping
