This is a heartwarming true story. Vince Vaughn stars as Joe Scaravella, a son who opens an Italian restaurant staffed by four feisty nonnas to honor his late mother's memory. The real stars, though, are the veteran actresses: Lorraine Bracco, Susan Sarandon, Talia Shire, and Brenda Vaccaro…who bring warmth and charm to their roles. While Vaughn's signature humor feels a tad forced, the cast's chemistry and the film's gentle humor make it a pleasant watch. A sweet, feel good movie perfect for a family movie night. 7.5/10

The plot unfolds without major surprises, but with a charm that’s hard to resist. It doesn’t aim to be a thriller or a complex drama; instead, it leans on the everyday, on small gestures, and on light humor that adds to the emotion rather than detracting from it. In that sense, it knows exactly what it wants to deliver—and it succeeds. The cast is another highlight. The actors bring charisma and skill, throwing themselves into a story that’s simple but effective. Together they make the characters endearing, even when the film edges toward the sentimental or predictable. Visually, it stands out for its food and setting photography—almost like an ad, but effective at conveying a homely atmosphere. You can practically smell the recipes being prepared on screen, a detail that enriches the experience and reinforces the cozy tone. In the end, Nonnas doesn’t aspire to be more than what it is: a kind, sentimental, and pleasant film. It may feel too light for those looking for depth, but for anyone in search of a heartwarming time, it has the right ingredients to leave a good taste. And even more so, knowing that the restaurant actually exists.

This is an amazing movie!! Expect to experience all sorts of beautiful feelings and expect tesrs...oh there will be tears but of joy! The acting is top, the story itself is so grounded and reaches so deep it makes me wanna watch with all the people I love. One thing the story communicates really well throughout the movie, is that older people can be young in their hearts and the only thing that becomes bigger as we age is not just a number, but our capacity to love, to understand, to sympathise. Absolutely loved it!
