Some really fantastic visuals, with its flashy style and satisfying action, it's one of the more impressive anime films. The world it's in feels very authentic and lived-in, like the best sci-fi tends to do. Really cool.

A standalone film that honours the series' emotional and aesthetic logic — Spike's world extended into a contained bio-terror mystery without betraying what made the series work. Mars rendered with the show's characteristic melancholy. Essential for fans; coherent without series knowledge.
