This was very ridiculous and very silly, but I suppose that was the point. I mean, I gotta admit there were definitely moments here or there that I let out a chuckle or found myself rather enjoying it, but overall, I feel like the movie lacked depth and real intrigue.

Entertaining but not as enjoyable as the remake. The remake had better songs, including the very moving marching song. Divine was excellent in the dual roles.

I am a big fan of the remake and hoped that I'd like this just as much, but unfortunately I didn't. Firstly I didn't realise it was a musical which was a major disappointment when 40 minutes in I was wondering where the songs were (and for a film with an amazing cast of singers eg. Debbie Harry, it would have made sense to let them sing!) Just didn't have as much life as the remake.
