What Acoucalancha said. The effort needed for creating this story in to a great movie just wasn't there.
It was a basic haunting story but I really liked the way it was written and there were parts that made me jump so that’s always a win in my book
It's a shame that the effects weren't better made, then it would have been much better, but even so it wasn't a bad horror movie at all, a good one.
It started decent: the acting is fair, the scares weren't that bad, the old house setting is always a good choice and Margot's backstory at the beginning was effectively creepy. The seance surprised me and so did a few scares but half of them fall short. It's in part because we see the entity too much, after a while it's just mundane and unscary. Not original in the slightest it just falls into the cliché ghost story category, with a mystery attached that turned out predictable and uninspired.
