Personal film fetishes checklist: ✅ Over the top in an unsettling way ✅ Unreliable narrator with identities blending into each other ✅ Surrealist mindfuck 🔲 Not sure if I got it right ✅ Bitter aftertaste ✅ Pitch-black humor ✅ Metaphorical scenes that don’t make much sense but linger in your mind for days (possibly with roses or petals) ✅ Trashy B-movie stuff becoming stylish ✅ Not-so-young dark lady ✅ Ass/Boobfest Final score: 9/10. Jokes aside, it’s definitely not a film for everyone, but I am sure it will satisfy a specific niche audience. I like how it deconstructs themes and perspectives we have already seen in western arthouse films with an over-the-top and playful attitude which is unique to Japanese independent cinema. Like it or hate it, I doubt you have ever watched a movie like this.
