[Raindance FF '23] Rather than addressing the modification of European policies, the film prefers to remain close to its protagonist through her activism and her permanent fight for the rights of refugees. The choice of the director may be logical but it also prevents from analyzing how the EU has substantially changed its refugee policy by allowing extremist parties to begin the criminalization of humanitarian organizations as they are incapable of controlling the flow of immigrants. Remaining on Sara Mardini's coherent speeches focuses too much a story that could have been more ambitious.
