Like a city built on a fault line, The Abyss starts off solid but then its foundation erodes and the whole thing implodes. I enjoyed the 'disaster film' aspect of this but the family drama was so thick I couldn't swallow it.

I guess this _could_ have been an interesting movie, but they reduced the greatest natural disaster in Sweden's history to nonsense family drama. Seriously, the drama is waaaay overdone for absolutely no reason at all. The movie did not need that at all. I actually had to start fast forwarding through bits of it.

A good movie a little woke sometimes but otherwise really nice movie.

I think I was expecting more. Too much drama and too little action.

So you're telling me that the second the dad [spoiler]sacrificed his life[/spoiler] (unnecessarily, might I add), the town [spoiler]magically just stopped sinking[/spoiler]? Come off it!
