I'll keep it short and to the point. Stare at a blank wall for 2 hours, and you won't miss anything. It's unwatchable and has made it onto my list of worst movies and TV shows. Don't watch it, don't let anyone watch it.
Meshes of the afternoon in a euro-spy cineplex. Seriously though, it is spectacular in every sense of the word. I feel like finally Cattet-Forzani are getting those final bits in places that I personally felt were missing in their previous movies. I'm very much looking forward to where they go from here.
Interesting things going on visually, but if there's a plot, it's lost on me.
Reflection in a Dead Diamond was such a whirlwind compared to whatever expectations I had walking in. It plays like James Bond on acid — stylized, surreal, pulpy — and then filters that through a distinctly French arthouse lens. It’s chaotic in a controlled way, flashy without feeling empty, and constantly dancing between spy thriller homage and psychedelic fever dream. I’m not the biggest James Bond fan to begin with, which honestly may have helped. I wasn’t comparing it beat-for-beat to anything — I just got to enjoy the ride. The editing is punchy, the tone is bold, and even when it drifts into indulgence, it never becomes boring. It’s weird. It’s stylish. It’s definitely not for everyone. But it was a fun ride. Rating: 2.5/5 – 70% – Worth Watching
Insane assault on the senses, but in a good way????? I guess this is what happens if you give a bunch of european filmmakers a ton of acid and ask them to film a Bond movie... could also go for a Archer coma dream episode!
