Season 1
Superpowered individuals are recognized as superheroes, but in reality, abuse their powers for personal gain, information the public is kept unaware of.

The Name of the Game
When a Supe kills the love of his life, A/V salesman Hughie Campbell teams up with Billy Butcher, a vigilante hell-bent on punishing corrupt Supes — and Hughie’s life will never be the same again.

Cherry
The Boys get themselves a Superhero, Starlight gets payback, Homelander gets naughty, and a Senator gets naughtier.

Get Some
It’s the race of the century. A-Train versus Shockwave, vying for the title of World’s Fastest Man. Meanwhile, the Boys are reunited and it feels so good.

The Female of the Species
On a very special episode of The Boys… an hour of guts, gutterballs, airplane hijackings, madness, ghosts, and one very intriguing Female. Oh, and lots of heart — both in the sentimental sense, and in the gory literal sense.

Good for the Soul
The Boys head to the “Believe” Expo to follow a promising lead in their ongoing war against the Supes. There might — MIGHT — be a homicidal infant, but you’ll have to see for yourself.

The Innocents
SUPER IN AMERICA (2019). Vought Studios. Genre: Reality. Starring: Homelander, Queen Maeve, Black Noir, The Deep, A-Train, Starlight, Tara Reid, Billy Zane.

The Self-Preservation Society
Never trust a washed-up Supe — the Boys learn this lesson the hard way. Meanwhile, Homelander digs into his past, Starlight discovers that love hurts, and if you’re ever in Sandusky, Ohio and a girl asks if she can touch your gills, say NO.

You Found Me
Season Finale Time! Questions answered! Secrets revealed! Conflicts… conflicted! Characters exploded! And so much more!

This is one of THE BEST TV productions ever to grace the small screen. Top tier stuff. Every scene is important and every episode is better than the last. The dark humor, the gory scenery and the incredible picture quality are just toppings on an excellent character drama, while the world building is totally immersive. You will not be able to see other superhero productions and not think how "fake" they are, after this. Top points: - Best villain I've seen in a long long time - It avoids cliches with ease - Helluva production - Incredible characters and spot-on dialogue - The concept itself is a great idea creating huge potential - Casting is awesome Minor cons: - Has great potential for action sequences but never takes off - Some of the secondary characters although extremely likeable could be explored much more This is by far the most fresh TV series I've watched in a long time. I really hope the second season comes quick and can live up to this.
Fucking great, finally, some real superheroes with emotions and personality
There's a lot of intriguing ideas here, unfortunately it kind of feels like they've all been done before. It doesn't help that _The Boys_ feels a little bit cheap due to a mix of budget constraints, production design and a few real misfires in casting. The storytelling is often scattershot and I even at the end of the season I feel like I haven't been properly introduced to quite a few characters and their development was extremely weak (notably A-Train, The Deep). There's an immaturity to it all that just prevents it going from good to great a little too often. There's a lot of strong stuff, though. Jack Quaid as Hughie is fantastic and credibly portrays someone really out of his depth who's getting swept away. Karl Urban is definitely playing a very exaggerated character (with a dodgy attempt at an accent), but he makes it work and the character is great fun. The dark humour works more often than not, even when it's unexpected. Erin Moriarty as Annie/Starlight is a real bright spot in an otherwise grim show. The show presents a gloriously America-centric point of view and makes no apologies for it, presenting issues that feel unique to its set up and location and can certainly inspire a lot of debate (which did indeed happen among my housemates and I). The show is often gratuitous to the point of absurdity, but it's not a massive issue with only a few moments that felt genuinely unnecessary, just put in there to satisfy gore hounds. This applies to the characters too, many of whom are unbelievably shitty people. This super cynical viewpoint was often a turn off for me. I still found more to like than dislike here, but this could be a lot better. The show takes 8 episodes to tell very little story and there isn't much to really get invested in. And has Simon Pegg ever been more miscast than here?
I loved the show and the ending had me LMAO! The only issue I had with the season, was the fact that every male super was an asshole/dick-bag and every female super was a poor innocent victim. The male supers did everything wrong/immoral and the female supers just had bad things happen to them.
Good first season. Rating-wise, every episode was a seven out of ten for me except for the finale. The season was certainly enjoyable, and I truly mean that, but rating any of the episodes higher than seven would've been an overstatement. I may look back on it differently and in a different light.
