Left this one higher than I did the first season, and I was pretty high on that one. I really dig these different looks into Star Wars and how this collection really focused in on its resonance to our current climate, and how different cultures relate to and see the setting.
A step-up from Season 1 in term of having more variation in both story and especially styles. So many episodes that are gorgeous in different ways. It does have my least favorite ep of both two seasons in "The Bandits of Golak" (annoying characters behaving improbably), but the average is higher and it's more varied, with my favorites being "Screecher's Reach" (Cartoon Salon animation in Star Wars world is a treat), "The Spy Dancer" (gorgeous brushed style complementing a resonant story), and "The Pit" (I find it has the best story out of the season, and manages to shock me in one scene). 1 Sith - B+ 2 Screecher's Reach - A- 3 In the Stars - B+ 4 I Am Your Mother - B+ (both story and stop-motion just pure Aardman charm) 5 Journey to the Dark Head - B 6 The Spy Dancer - A- 7 The Bandits of Golak - C 8 The Pit - A- 9 Aau's Song - B+
I enjoyed the first season more.
After the first season I wrote that it has some cool episodes but overall I don't think I need more. After the second season I would say it has one, maybe two, cool episodes but overall I'm sure I don't need more.
It get's better than season 1, a lot of fun, new animation styles that work well, with solid and powerful stories.
