The housemates have been chosen from a range of backgrounds for what Channel 5 is describing as the ultimate social experiment - presumably to coincide with the headline events occurring this week in the real world.

After almost eight weeks, Emma Willis reveals the result of the public vote to choose the winner of Big Brother 2017.
