Die My Love boasts an incredible performance by Jennifer Lawrence, and indeed, she throws every ounce of herself into the role. Unfortunately, a great performance does not a great movie make. The story is interesting enough, but, lacking emotional weight, it fails to make a meaningful impression.
I wanted to like this movie, JLaw was amazing, but the plot was chaotic, too much time history flipping back and forth, and I couldn't figure when events were happening, and the ending was so vague and metaphorical.
Strong performances but I didn't enjoy this at all. Might just have been my mood, so I'll try this again another time. Feels like something I should have liked.
2 of the most rumoured oversexed actors met in 1 film. Lawrence and Pattinson showcased what Hollywood people would do to satisfy their own thirst for excitements. Lawrence looked fatter. Pattinson looked somewhat cleaner and normal. Why watch this film? I'll say it, just be honest. I watched it because I want to see these 2 making it out on screen, butt naked and all. I bet there would a Behind The Scenes outtakes of these 2, butt naked, stinky and sweaty, wrestled it out in front of the crews. Ia this a good film? Hell no. The idea of a woman being tortured by her own emptiness and boredom is not a new idea. Without the extended graphic nudities and sexual acts, this story would far more emotional by exploring what Lawrence's character imagined and over thought. It only needed 1 sex scene to illustrate how intensely sexualized the relationship was. Die My Love is never a film about love, maybe at first. Die My Love is a film to satisfy sexual fantasy of the Hollywood's people. Those 2 f&cked in public and got paid for it.
This movie felt like an artistic, psychological portrait of a mind breaking apart. 7/10.
