The fact that people are made about this season and episodes really shows which side they're on...
Seeing Brandon Routh: :D!!! His character is racist: D:???
I remember watching this episode for the first time. They’re outside to accommodate COVID precautions. A creative solution. They don’t acknowledge the real-world situation in the series at all (unlike 911, for example). On a separate note, the discussion of racism in policing isn’t self-righteous. It’s a discussion that surely departments across the country had in the wake of BLM protests and George Floyd in 2020. In that regard, they are acknowledging the real-world, but doing so through their own lens, and the lens of new police officers who have to make their own decisions for how to act in a world where racism IS a reality, and policing IS at odds with marginalized groups. They basically took 3 seasons to ignore that, focusing on plot and the characters. Now with established characters, the discussion of real world politics/racism/policing can take place without seeming so baseless and preachy.
I am SO happy about the new TO!! It's good to see him back on television on a show with pretty good writers.
Ugh, Brandon Routh... hated his guts in Chuck and it seems it won't be any different here.
