This version of Little House is a beautifully filmed, wholesome, heartwarming, well-told story. Unfortunately it's equally true that the series feels more like 21st Century people were dropped into Laura Ingalls' original narrative. A few hymns are sung, but this series is completely devoid of the faith exhibited by the real Ingalls family. God is never mentioned, and prayer is never displayed.

Why am I watching this when I didn't watch the original when it was at the height of its popularity? There are other shows and movies I'm more interested in. I guess this is something I didn't plan to give my full attention to. Also I'm curious about how the indigenous people will be portrayed in 2026. Regardless, I find my curiosity perseveres. I keep watching, often giving it my full attention, and will be finished with the season soon.

Ich kenne die Original Serie und die Bücher nicht aber diese Neuauflage gefällt mir unfassbar gut. Tolle Geschichte, sympathische Figuren und wirklich gutes Schauspiel. Gerne mehr davon!

I just finished watching the entire original so my heart is with that one. Michael Landon was brilliant and so was the entire cast. I’m giving this first episode three stars because it didn’t wow me. The original I was hooked from the first few minutes. I do love that we have actual Indigenous actors in this and not just white actors portraying them. Kudos to Hollywood for getting that right. Looking forward to seeing how the season progresses.
