I guess this woman just had more money than she needs and a death wish. Not the most original thing ever but I guess it doesn't have to be. Still very stupid stuff to be doing alone. Male or female, it doesn't matter. Only one snake? No spider, crock, murder jellies, cassowary or kangaroo that just hates your face? It had it's funny bits I guess.
OMG Charlize looks so different. She totally changed her face. Looks like a different person. Could not beleive it was her... talk about bad plastic work. Silly plot full of holes. He opens the bear trap with one hand? She def could have taken him once his leg was broken... she's exhausted free climbing and takes the hardest route with a giant overhang lol. Weird film quality all dull and a lot of fake looking scenes... just looked it up and it was actually filmed on location in several parks and yet they managed to make it look fake like a bad studio set - impressive! Barely watchable - real waste of Charlize talent. People are comparing this to Deliverance!?! This is no where close to being in Deliverances league. People are also saying the sets and camera work is great - what are they smoking? It all looks unnatural and fake. They also praise the villain actor what’s his face. I think he overacted and did a boring classic psycho we’ve seen 100 times. The teeth were a nice touch though. “You must have some dentist… did you eat him too.” That was a decent line… Oh and the closing song is embarrassing.
It's not a bad movie. I've seen worse. Taron Egerton did great being creepy. The only thing I noticed: this is in Australia... and not a single wild animal encounter?
Not once during Apex’s entire runtime did it convince me that Charlize Theron couldn’t simply overpower Taron Egerton and walk away. A real struggle of a thriller, one that hobbles from plot point to plot point with shoehorned scenes and set pieces that don't feel organic or natural. Just contrived interactions to reach the next slide down a waterfall or shock reveal. Not my cup of tea; senseless Netflix fodder to doomscroll to.
It’s very on par with Netflix movies, in the sense that it’s lots of CGI and a plot/script that’s very pedestrian. However, Charlize Theron and especially Taron Egerton do an incredible job here. They make the movie worth watch it if you have nothing better to watch.
