A new breed of mystery.
George Hardy is a shepherd who reads detective novels to his beloved sheep every night, assuming they can't possibly understand. But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realize they must become the detectives. As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers.

When I first heard about this movie, I expected it to be corny and juvenile, but it turned out to be the complete opposite. The storytelling is heartfelt and surprisingly mature, while still being easy for kids to understand. At its core, it’s a true family film — the kind that doesn’t get made nearly as often anymore. In many ways, it reminded me of the classic family movie Babe, and the CGI work and voice acting for the animals was excellent. Nicholas Braun brings a lot of comedic charm to his role as the bumbling local policeman, and the humor throughout the film was a really pleasant surprise. You can also tell the entire cast, including Hugh Jackman, genuinely cared about the story and gave it their full effort, which makes the emotional moments feel sincere instead of forced or overly cheesy. That sincerity allows the film’s heavier themes — dealing with negative emotions, memories, and grief — to resonate in a meaningful way. Give this movie a chance, and there’s a very good chance you’ll laugh, cry, or maybe even do both.
I was looking for a fun time and oh boy I had one. It’s a perfect mix between heartfelt, comedy and murder mystery. There is also sheep so 8/10
justice … just us… why did i comment this?
Solid family/PG-13 film. That is a lot of fun to watch. Nothing special but a little bit unique. It follows the story of how the sheep in a shepherd‘s herd solves his mystery of being murdered. The voices of the sheep and the CGI was very well done and entertaining. The story didn’t go exactly as I thought with not as much comedy, but it was a heartwarming story that had some nice surprises.
I cried an awful lot during The Sheep Detectives. The emotional manipulation is off the scales in this movie and I went for it hook, line and sinker. Entertaining, funny, the murder mystery is very light and it felt a little long and contrived but overall a good moment spent in the cinema. More suited to the younger audience.
