Not as strong as the first season, but it resolves rather nicely, amidst a few missteps and continuity errors. The revelation of the antagonist actually took me by surprise, though in retrospect it shouldn't have. What I loved about it was the care in painting this world with real objects and structures with a lived in steampunk feel. Realistic fantasy. The ending was sweet but not cloyingly so. Again naturalistic. In the end nobody really came out as a classical bad guy. They all had their own justifications, whereas in the first there was a clearer demarcation. At times it did feel more stagey and confined to interior sets than the first season, but then it takes flight. Midway through the season the loss of the real intrigue within the story coincided with two deaths within 5 minutes of each other. Took me by complete surprise in a G.R.R.Martin sort of way.

This show has more executive producers than good ratings
