7/10 At this point, the show is establishing a pattern of fixing some problems only to add new ones. In some ways this season is a clear improvement over the last - the Untucked segments have more of a raw, intimate feel to them and the main episodes don't feel quite so over-edited. We've also got a more fashion-oriented cast after the last few seasons saw the show tending more and more towards comedic, camp queens. Why, then, would you have a mostly fashion-forward cast and still lean heavily towards comedy in the challenges? It doesn't work. It's like the show wanted to try and improve but could only half-commit to the new direction, so the challenges ended up largely being comedy or acting-based in order to appease the few comedy queens still in the cast. In spite of these issues, the mostly fashionable cast ends up also being one of the most endearing groups, and it's also a relief to see Santino Rice replaced on the judging panel by Ross Matthews and Carson Kressley - both improvements. Plus, Merle Ginsberg is back, yay! It might only be for one episode, but I'll take it, and that does give us the hysterically weird "Ru Hollywood Stories" challenge.

Once you're already well-versed in the franchise, this season is a blast to watch because there are so many iconic moments and everyone is still relatively shady (that fades away after this season). I admit that on a first watch it comes off really disappointing though! If anything, it's worth it just so you can meet Katya and root for her on All Stars!

you now what i've had? IT. this season was the worst for me. you can see the show's production putting the spotlight on some queens that just aren't that great. there are some stars like katya and trixie but the edition of episodes do they dirty. i miss santino's opinions, i miss other seasons' ru and michelle and i don't like the two new fixed judges. hope next season is better.
