Detective Kevin Ryan! And Detective Javier Esposito? Fun to see these guys again!
Tim and Lucy have the best dynamic in the show, hands down. I hope nothing will happen that will change that in any way. And I hope
John and Grace don't become a thing
or she becomes involved in
a love triangle.
John's already
with Jessica,
and they're good together. There's no logical point in adding unnecessary drama
from a third party
into the mix.
I know I'm harping on about this for the second week in a row, but I'm hoping the show figures its cast logistics out soon. If every episode this season is going to boil down to Nolan on his own, getting it done like a lone wolf hero cop, it's going to get tired. Losing a main cast member probably threw all kinds of wrenches in the writers' plans, but this solution is not it, bruv. The rest of the show is as good as it's ever been, but Nolan without a regular foil is throwing the balance all out of whack.
ohh. Oh no. We're shuffling? This is how we're doing it? I thought Perrineau was good replacement but once again he danced in and out of my heart before I could protect it. At the end of the episode though my first thoughts were "That was a fun episode". It's a weird way to describe an episode in which a child killed his mother but sure still a fun episode.
What is with people coming out half naked when the door is open. If you're sleeping with someone you don't want people to know about why would you do that? She clearly rang the doorbell or knocked. She wasn't sneaking in. She clearly was talking with her friend. You're a cop and a tough as nailed by the book elite patrol cop. He can stop and remember where he is and who is around him at any time but he can't sense someone is at the front door and since the girl is friends with the ONE person he wants to hide from he can't avoid that?
**ACAB** Ok so in the ACAB corner I think I'll highlight all the ways the show tries to make cops look better than they are. This is not normally a reflection on the show or it's quality. I think my guy who works for the councilwoman had a decent grift. But I'm also not sure how much they would buy it. So I'm mostly neutral on it. They pull a suspect in. He has bullets. Bullets size-fit into a gun a child killed his mother with and yet the DA refuses to prosecute this literal career criminal because "not enough evidence" as if police couldn't create evidence. I mean they could just read his rap lyrics in the court room (accepted 80% of the time https://bostonreview.net/arts-society/erik-nielson-andrea-l-dennis-rap-trial ) which has the power to get convictions when witnesses admit the police bullied them and there's no evidence and the accused actually DOESN'T have a criminal background.
