Released from prison three years ago, retired safecracker Geoff is determined to stay on the straight and narrow. When, however, his son-in-law Terry gets into arrears with a loan shark, Geoff comes under pressure to do one last job to pay off Terry's debt.

The evidence is stacking up against Geoff, who is starting to question Stokes's motives.
