Alexander begins his Icelandic adventure by observing an erupting volcano and learning about people's beliefs in elves, fairies and trolls.

Alexander travels north from Reykjavík to Húsavík to try out the Icelandic delicacy of fermented shark, before getting fitted for a traditional woolly jumper by one of the nation’s prime experts in the craft.

On Alexander's last day in Iceland, he visits the boiling mud and lava flows of southern Iceland before ascending a frigid glacier and enjoying a seafood lunch.
